It all started with an apple green desk chair at IKEA
We had just run in for a few small items at the end of a full day in Cincinnati. We even had a list. But as we headed to check out, the “As Is” corner caught our eye. More specifically, a gorgeous green chair reached out and grabbed us. Bob had been complaining of back pain from his broken down old desk chair, and this one was perfect! Contemporary, clean lines… enticingly ergonomic back support… rock bottom price… AND it was in a lovely shade of apple green – the same hue that frequently has its way with us and is scattered throughout our home.
As we drove home with our new find, the conversation turned once again to our business. Because we’re passionate about photography, we rarely travel any distance together without stumbling into a photo discussion of some sort. This particular day we were both feeling frustrated about our “brand.” From the beginning it had felt like our brand was lacking. While “Tankersley Photography” and its identifying logo certainly bore our family name, it didn’t say much of who we are as photographers… what’s special about photos we take, or the unique experience we help create for our clients. Basically – the name was a mouthful, and it was boring.
I spoke up that afternoon in the car and gave voice to an idea that had been brewing. Thinking the family name had to stay, I suggested that we think about a new logo and color scheme to help freshen our brand and make it speak more to the style of photography we create. With our bright and shiny new desk chair in the backseat, I asked Bob how he felt about apple green and chocolate brown… a silly question because I happen to know that my husband loves those colors as much as I do! He was enthusiastic but not sure how to incorporate them into our current logo and name. So then I admitted that our first attempt at naming our business had not thrilled me, and shared with Bob the name that I wished we had chosen. We spun ideas and brainstormed all the way home that evening, and by the time we pulled into our driveway we had a new brand! And that’s how Lovebound Studio was born.
We are passionate about helping families capture moments that create a lifetime, and we are proud to re-launch our business under this new banner that we believe speaks to the heart of our style of photography… natural, organic, a bit playful. We strive to make each photo session a fun and memorable experience for children and families, and we think that our photos speak for themselves: Our clients have a great time in front of our cameras, and it shows!
